Psychiatry is the medical branch of mental healthcare. A psychiatrist listens to your concerns, assesses your symptoms and their effect on daily life, and discusses a treatment plan with you. This may include medication when appropriate, follow-up reviews, and counselling or psychological therapy as part of your care.
You may consider a psychiatric consultation if changes in your mood, anxiety, sleep, thoughts, or behaviour are persistent, distressing, or affecting your work, studies, relationships, or daily routine. A consultation can also help if you are already taking medication and would like a review of your progress or side effects.
At Gajanan Mind & Management, our aim is to make it easier to seek the right support, with psychiatric care and counselling considered together according to each person’s needs. Seeking a consultation does not mean medication will automatically be prescribed; the next steps follow an individual assessment.
